We had an opportunity to join Mozilla Indonesia Community Informal Dinner with Gen Kanai himself. Thank you Viking Karwur for the invitation! So, last weekend (May 21, 2010) some of Mozilla Firefox users were joining an informal dinner with Gen Kanai. He’s the Director of Asia Business Development for Mozilla. We joined the event as videoblogger. Yes, we stole Gen’s time to ask him few things about Mozilla, and also — of course — Indonesia. Thank you Gen! It was fun!

After I got there, I just put few questions to ask in my head. It was a little bit spontaneous interview. No notes, no list of questions. I wanted to push my luck to throw my questions to Gen. Luckily, Gen is a very nice person and he’s very cooperative. :D Anyway, we took some videos. We also interviewed Viking Karwur and some other Mozilla users. So, I think we will split our videos into two or three episodes.

We asked Viking to share few things about Mozilla Firefox in Indonesia, especially how he build this kind of community and how the community is running. Our videoblog is focusing on Indonesia, so we did not go further on some technical aspects (but hey, we love Firefox!). At first, we asked Gen about Mozilla itself, few things people should know about Firefox, and also how Firefox development on small screen device. I witnessed Firefox on Nokia N900 once, and it looked great! After that, we asked Gen to share some thoughts about Indonesia. One thing he said was, “The traffic’s sucks!” Hahaha! You’re right! What about his other comments about Indonesia? You’ll find out in our next episodes! Stay tuned!
