In last March 2010, after having durian at Kalibata Street, we headed to Pasar Minggu to make another video. We’re waiting at the parking area at starting from 11 PM. We’re not alone. We met lots of people (mostly fish seller assistants) who also waited for those who were still at Muara Baru fish auction. At around midnight, we saw some trucks arrived at the parking area. Some guys there told us that it was the truck we’re waiting for. Run! Run!
We started taking photos and videos. Everything was moving so fast. They’re so busy and we did too. They’re busy unload the fish from the truck, and we’re busy to bug them. :D
It was not too difficult to had conversations with them. Some sellers were too shy to be interviewed. Finally, we had Muslimah there, one of the fish sellers. She told us that she’s from Madura, East Java and she has been working as fish seller for about eight years.

Teguh interviewing Muslimah, one of the fish sellers we met at Pasar Minggu.
After that, we stayed at the parking area to get more videos. At around 1 AM, we’re entering the market and start exploring. We started from the fish section and witness how those sellers prepared their fish. Some cleanup the fish, some washed the tables. We felt a little bit thirsty — and sleeply :D. Inside the market, we found a kiosk selling coffee and tea. Yay!

2 AM.
We ordered two glasses of coffee. While having our coffee, we had a conversation with some people there. They told us that the market is now that crowded — compared to few years ago. They also told us that the market (usually) started to be busy at around 3 AM in the morning. I looked at the clock, and it was 2 AM.
At around 3, more people came to the market and we had no reasons not to continue our adventure. We stayed there for the next 30 minutes. And, we moved to another area: the meat section. We’re not sure how many meat sellers there. We continued walking and go to different corners in this area. Fianlly, at around 4 AM, we decided to see the market from the outside.
After we’re sure that we had all the materials, we decided to go back home. It was 5 AM. Tired, but we’re satisfied with the contents we got.
Here are some photos we got from Pasar Minggu.
